GTUC (yellow) v UPSA

Marshalls (blue) piped GTUC in the finals.

Upcoming games in Zone 7 of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship will be a replay of what transpired recently on Ghana’s Independence Day.

Marshalls University College, University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) and Islamic University College have been drawn in the Zone.

Games to determine the sole team to progress from the zone to the National Championship stage will be played on Saturday March 24.

However, with the exception of Islamic University, the remaining members of the zone crossed paths at the ROX Energy Independence Day Charity Basketball Jam.

Marshalls progressed at the expense of Zenith University College while GTUC dominated UPSA 15-5 in the semifinals respectively.

2017 UPAC Silver Medalist Marshalls piped GTUC 22-21 in the final to win the tournament; the latter parts of the game were littered with several stoppages as tempers flared.

With UPSA clinching third place, the trio will face off in a much anticipated set of rematches later this month.
