The University of Professional Studies (UPSA)’s Basketball Court is ready to host teams in today’s ROX Energy Independence Day Charity Basketball Jam.
The competition will have ten teams representing ten tertiary institutions including UPSA battle for prizes and souvenirs from headline sponsor ROX Energy.
The one day event will raise funds to be donated to inmates at the Nsawam Prison as part of the institution’s Students Representative Council’s way to mark Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations.
Today marks 61 years of the West African nation’s independence from Britain in 1957and several activities have been lined up to mark the occasion.
Free throw and three point shooting contest, slam dunk competition respectively have been lined up to spice up game breaks.
The likes of national winners University of Ghana and contenders Marshalls University College will compete in the tournament.
Top hoops hub including Central University, Blue Crest University College and Zenith University College are lined up to play.
Rapper and avid basketball fan Lil Shaker headlines the entertainment sect.
