After making its first appearance in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, KAAF University is set to make another debut in this year’s competition.
The Kasoa based institution’s Male Basketball Team will compete in the 2018 UPAC in the Central Region or Zone 3 after playing in last year’s edition in the Eastern Region/ Zone 1.
KAAF played against All Nations University College, Koforidua Technical University and Valley View University in the 2017 Championship.
However, the team missed out on qualification from the zone as fellow new comer All Nations booked the zone’s sole spot.
Aiming to cut travel time for the institution’s contingent, organizers Rite Sports, has moved the team to Zone 3 where games will be played at the University of Education’s Winneba Campus (UEW).
KAAF will compete against the host institution, University of Cape-Coast (UCC) and Cape-Coast Technical University in the zone.
University of Education UEW and UCC have competed in the UPAC Championshipsince the competition’s maiden edition in 2011.
UEW placed second in 2011 with UCC coming third.
