Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has faced opponents in the Central Region throughout its previous campaigns in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
However, the 2018 edition has TTU drawn in Zone 2 (Western Region) where it will compete against a trio of new entrants to the competition.
TTU will host Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA-Takoradi), Ghana Technology University College (GTUC-Takoradi) and University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) in the zone.
Games to determine the team that qualifies to the next stage of the tournament will be played on Friday March 9 at TTU’s main Court.
Only winners of the eight zones make it to the quarterfinals stage to compete for this year’s title in Ghana’s capital, Accra in April.
All Nations University College sealed qualification from the Eastern Region Zone over the past week in Koforidua for the second straight year.
Takoradi Technical has been an ever present feature at the UPAC Championship placing third at the 2016 edition.
