A handful of teams representing tertiary institutions in Ghana’s Greater Accra Region will compete in the Independence Day Basketball Bash; the tournament is headlined by ROX Energy Drink.
The event will be played at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) on Tuesday March 6 with competing teams set to clinch the prestigious trophy.
The competition has been put together to mark the West African nation’s 61st Independence Day Anniversary Celebrations.
Two time Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Champions University of Ghana headline the participating teams.
Aside host UPSA, the likes of Central University, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Blue Crest University College and Marshalls University College are listed to play in tomorrow’s competition.
Three point shooting, dunk and free throw shooting contest will be respectively held during the much anticipated one day program.
Tomorrow’s competition will be the first outing for a host of teams set to compete in the upcoming UPAC Championship Greater Accra Zonal games.
As such teams like UG, Marshalls and Blue Crest will use the competition to size up each other ahead of this year’s UPAC games.
