All Nations celebrate
The 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship is officially up and running after the opening round of games.

This year’s Championship tipped off with games played in Zone 1- Eastern Region earlier today at Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary.

All Nations University College managed to top the zone and seal a spot at the national competition next month in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

The team successfully defended its regional title won under surprising circumstances as the little known institution progressed beyond the group stage in its maiden appearance.

However, matters were closer than 2017 as goal differences determined how teams ranked in the zone after Presbyterian University College failed to show up for the competition.

With the remaining teams registering a win and a loss, points scored and conceded in the competition ensured All Nations will represent the zone in Accra.

Despite suffering a 31-33 loss to Koforidua Technical University, All Nations clinched a 13 point win against Ho Technical.

Ho’s similar big win over Koforidua proved to be key in determining All Nations as zonal winners.
