Heading to the start of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, Ho Technical University will be fancying its chances of making it to the national competition.

The institution will compete in on Saturday March 3 at Pope John Senior High School against All Nations University College, Presbyterian University College and Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region Zone.

Ho has featured in the preliminary stages of the 2016 and 2017 competitions in Ghana’s capital region Accra but will do so in Koforidua this year.

The change of scenery comes with a new chance to progress beyond the zonal round. Ho played against 2016 champions University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies and Blue Crest University College in the 2017 edition.

Last year’s Eastern winners All Nations failed to win a game at the national competition building hope for Ho supporters to qualify in a group that doesn’t feature the defending national champions.

Only zonal winners qualify to play at the national stage in Accra in April.
