Ho Technical (yellow) placed second in the zone.
All Nations.

Ho Technical University will not compete in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship in the Eastern Region Zone.

The 2018 UPAC is set to commence on Saturday March 3 with games in the zone set to take place at Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary.

Ho will be up against All Nations University College, Presbyterian University College and Koforidua Technical University.

However, Ho will be the sole newcomer to the zone after playing the past couple of editions in the Greater Accra Zone.

In the 2017 competition, Ho competed against University of Ghana, Blue Crest University College and University of Professional Studies (UPSA).

Varied reports behind the change have come through in the aftermath of organizers Rite Sports Limited’s decision to move Ho Technical to the Eastern Region.

University of Ghana qualified from the group and won last year’s national title; All Nations are the defending zonal champions.

Eight zonal competitions will determine the top teams that make the quarterfinal roster for the national competition due in April.
