Ex University of Education-Winneba (UEW) Shooting Guard Benjamin “Skywalker” Debrah has picked Marshalls University College and University of Ghana (UG) to qualify from the preliminary stage at this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
He also backed his alma mater to come through in the Central Region Zone which has the likes of University of Cape-Coast competing.
He picked the pair in an interview on basketball television show “Courtside” which airs on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports over the weekend.
Marshalls is in Zone 7 alongside University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) and Islamic University College.
UG on the other hand, has been drawn with Regional Maritime University College, Radford University College and Pentecost University College in Zone 8.
The pair played in last year’s final with UG winning 45-21 to clinch its second straight title and clinched the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) title in January.
Debrah featured for UEW in 2011 where the side placed second with Accra Technical University clinching gold.
He will however, play for Marshalls University in this year’s competition. The 2018 UPAC commences on Saturday March 3 in the Eastern Region Zone.
