D’Tigers of Nigeria came out strong on Day 2 of the ongoing FIBA 2019 World Cup qualifiers to clinch its second straight win.

The 2015 African Champions tore apart Rwanda courtesy a 108-53 win to all but seal top spot in Group B of the qualifiers.

Nigeria beat Uganda in the opening game on Friday February 23 to maintain its unbeaten run heading to the final round of games today.

The 2017 African silver medalist face host Mali in Bamako with a lot on the line for the latter country in the West African showdown.

Mali lost its first game 70-74 surprisingly to Rwanda but has recovered to beat Uganda 79-76 in the second game to ensure it rolls into its final game with a chance to progress to the next stage.

The home side faces a daunting task to clinch a win against one of the continent’s best sides. Rwanda and Uganda will do battle at 15:30 GMT before Nigeria plays Mali at 18:00 GMT.

Uganda ranks bottom of the standings with no wins; Mali and Rwanda are ranked third and second respectively.
