Former Boston Celtics Combo Forward Ben Bentil’s career has already reached journey man status two years after turning into a professional basketball player.

Unlike other journey men, Bentil’s has been littered with several records beginning with life as the first Ghana born player to be drafted into the NBA.

Bentil recently signed for Spanish side RETABET Bilbao Basket and is in line to suit up for the side on March 4 against Gipuzkoa GBC.

He became the first born and raised in the West African nation to play in the NBA after featuring for Dallas Mavericks in a 10 day stint.

Prior to this, he played for Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Gatorade League and Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers.

By playing for the Flying Tigers, Bentil became the first from Ghana to play in the Chinese Basketball Association with a two month cameo as a replacement for Andray Blatche.

Signing for French Pro A side Champagne Chalons-Reims ahead of the ongoing season, Bentil became Ghana’s first in France.

Bentil averaged 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for Reims in 20 games.
