Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary Physical Education Master Fred Dwamenah has stated the school’s basketball team will win the next Sprite Ball Championship.

The Sprite Ball Championship is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition and this year’s edition took place in January with Kumasi Girls Senior High School and Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC) coming out tops.

Pope John placed third after beating Sacred Heart Technical Institute 21-12; this was the team’s second bronze medal in the past three editions of the tournament.

The absence of a top quality court has been a major problem for the school in previous years but that has been solved with a new court unveiled at the school over the past weekend.

The new court was funded by CDH Financial Holdings CEO Emmanuel Adu Sarkodee a prominent member of the 1989 Year Group.

In response to the giant kind gesture, Dwamenah stated, “We will win the next Sprite Ball” in an interview on Ghana Channel Kwese Free Sports Courtside Show.
