University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has extended its stay at the top of the Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League.

Following the opening round of the second half of the 2017-2018 season, UENR continues to lead the standings after the Week 5.

The team produced a 34-9 demolition exercise on Barracks Scorpions at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani to make it five wins in five games.

UENR won last season league campaign beating then defending champions Suncity Braves on the final day to clinch the title.

After playing at this year’s Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games, the team is preparing to play in the much anticipated Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Championship.

UENR’s unbeaten streak translates to 10 points for the season; one point ahead of second placed LIR Royals who beat Catholic University College (CUCG) Saints 43-15 in the final game.

West Siders lost 28-45 to Suncity Braves who remain third while Sunyani Technical University (STU) lost 12-17 Desert Rabbits.
