University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Male Basketball Team will be in action on March 6 during Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations this year.

The institution’s Students Representative Council is organizing a one day event dubbed “Independence Day Basketball Bash”.

The competition will be played at UPSA’s sports complex court with nine other tertiary institutions set to compete per information reaching Basketballghana.com

Ghana Institute of Journalism, University of Ghana (UG), Central University, Wisconsin, Radford, Zenith, Radford, Marshalls and Data Link University Colleges have been penciled to compete next month.

Speaking in an interview, organizer of the Games, Samuel Sasu Adonteng the competition is to get institutions competing in a healthy way against each other.

Contributions will be made to donate to inmates at the Nsawam Prison as the West African nation turns 61 early in March.

UPSA is set to play in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship alongside a host of the aforementioned tertiary sides.

Marshalls and UG played in last year’s UPAC Final which had UG claim the top prize.
