Two time bronze medal winners at the Sprite Ball Championship Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary has a brand new basketball court.

The new edifice was unveiled over the weekend during the school’s 60th Anniversary celebrations in Ghana’s Eastern Region capital, Koforidua.

Catholic Archbishop Charles Palmer-Buckle was at the venue to cut the sod officially opening the school’s latest infrastructure for patronage.

The ceremony formed part of celebrations to mark Pope John’s chronicled continuation to the development of education and sports in Ghana.

The enormous funds needed for the construction was provided by CDH Financial Holdings Chief Executive Officer Adu Sarkodee an Old Boy of the school.

Present at the ceremony was Headmistress Benedicta Foli, Physical Education Masters Patrick Owusu and Fred Dwamenah with Assistant Head Kwame Adjepong.

The construction of the court comes at a crucial time for the school as it prepares for regional qualifiers later this year for next year’s Sprite Ball.

Despite featuring in the semifinals at the last three editions, Pope John is yet to make the final game.
