Ghana Navy and Junior Reformers are the standout high profile teams missing on the list of teams due to compete in the Battle Ground Tournament.
The tournament is a warm up event ahead of this year’s Tema Basketball League campaign and commences on February 18.
Tema’s Community 4 Court will host games for the next three weeks and the competition is set to end on March 11.
With the exception of Akatsi Rifles and Teshie Rangers, all participating teams competed in last season’s Tema League playoffs won by Tema Community 4.
C4, C2, Tema Heat, Nungua Coldstore, Ghana Police and Ashaiman Lions; Ashaiman made the finals but lost to C4.
Navy and Junior Reformers competed in the 2017 league postseason but got bundled out in the first round after suffering loss to C4 and Coldstore respectively.
Rifles and Rangers failed to progress beyond the regular season but will compete in the final event before the 2018 league season starts.
This year’s league is reportedly set for tip off in the final week in March.
