Aside clinching its second straight win over Iowa Wolves in the NBA Gatorade League, Austin Spurs responded well to a loss in the previous encounter.
Austin lost to Rio Grande Valley Vipers but in the early hours on Sunday but played a determined game to ink an 89-87 win over Iowa early this morning.
The team’s performance reflected Ghana Center Amida Brimah’s stint in the game as the former University of Connecticut Captain had a better showing against Wolves.
He registered eight points, three blocks, an assist and game high 15 rebounds in 23 minutes as a substitute which will give him a lot of confidence.
Of the game leading rebounding mark set by Brimah, seven came on the offensive side which was another game high.
This comes on the back off a poor performance against Vipers where he scored just two points and grabbed eight rebounds without any blocks.
Brimah leads the league in the latter category and playing over 20 minutes without registering one was shocking. Sours return to action on February 21.
