This has generally been a bad weekend for Ghanaian players abroad as several nationals produced low numbers in respective games.
Aside former College players Ben Bentil and Amida Brimah produce low key performances, Power Forward/ Center Ernest Aflakpui followed suit.
The 6 foot 10 inch player started in Temple University’s 73-55 win over South Florida Bulls on the back off a similar big win over East Carolina on Friday.
However, his individual performance left much to be desired as he scored five points, gathered six rebounds and registered an assist.
Aflakpui has been a regular starter in his junior year with the Owls after spending a lot of time coming off the bench in previous seasons.
Fellow Ghanaians Bentil and Brimah scored in single digits in France and the NBA Gatorade League respectively. The three frontcourt players represent the next phase of Ghanaian stars who could end the West African country’s long wait to compete at the highest international level.
For the second straight game, Temple Guard Quinton Rose paced his side’s scoring chart registering 20 points in the win.
