Ghana Forward Maxwell Amoafo has made a dream debut in the starting unit of new side University of Saskatchewan in Canada.
The 6 foot 7 inch player recorded a 15 point, 13 rebound double double in his side’s 82-80 win over Victoria University.
Amoafo played 18 minutes and was efficient in the game as he converted seven of 13 field goal attempts and one of two free throw attempts respectively.
This was the former Mfantsipim School player’s extensive run for the Huskies after playing limited minutes in previous outings.
All members of the starting unit scored in double figures as Amoafo grabbed four offensive rebounds in the close win.
Alex Unruh led the game in scoring putting up 24 points and filled the stats sheet by recording three rebounds, five assists and four steals.
After joining the team a few weeks back, Amoafo is adjusting to his team and new country quite well. The Huskies will be in action on Friday February 16 at Calgary.
