University of Ghana (UG) and University of Cape-Coast (UCC) dominated the just ended Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games basketball event.
UG won gold in the male basketball competition with UCC placing second and teams from both institutions featured in the female division final game.
UCC beat UG’s female side to win the division with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) placing third.
Medals accumulated in the basketball competition by UG and UCC helped the teams rank high on the medal table at the end of the games.
UCC placed first at the 25th GUSA Games winning 39 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 14 bronze medals in Tamale.
Host University of Development Studies (UDS) missed out on medals in the basketball competition but managed to scoop 11 gold medals, 13 silver and nine bronze medals respectively.
UG ended the games in fourth place with five gold, 10 silver and 22 bronze medals respectively. Third place winners in the basketball male division University of Education-Winneba (UEW) ranked third on the medal table.
