UG beat UCC in the final game.

The reigning Champions of the Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) have missed out on a medal at this year’s GUSA Games.

UENR failed to clinch a medal at the 25th Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games which is taking place at the University of Development Studies (UDS) and due to end on Saturday January 20.

2016 GUSA Male Division Champions University of Ghana (UG) successfully defended its trophy with a win in the final game over University of Cape-Coast (UCC).

UCC placed second ahead of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) who clinched the bronze medal.

UNER featured in the competition but was not successful in its latest outing as the GSP League break is due to end next month. However it did manage impressive results including a 38-35 win over 2016 silver medalist University of Professional Studies (UPSA).

The second half of the league reportedly commences on February 17 at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani with UENR in first place.

The team is the defending champion in the division after clinching the 2016-2017 edition.
