Defending champions of the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Male Basketball competition, University of Ghana (UG) are yet to lose a game in this year’s tournament.
The ongoing competition is yet to have the 2016 winners lose a game after four rounds with three more rounds to end the first stage.
Despite changes to the roster which said goodbye to stalwarts like Captain Aziz Abubakar and Joshua Akai, the team has impressed so far in the competition.
UG tipped of its title defense with a drubbing of University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) 60-12 in the opening game.
Ghana’s premier tertiary institution’s male side continued its winning ways by beating arch rivals Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 73-48.
That win came after UG clinched a win over University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in a rematch of the 2016 Final at the University of Education-Winneba (UEW).
The team is set to play UEW, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and host University of Development Studies (UDS) in the upcoming rounds.
