Newly crowned Champions of the 2018 Sprite Ball Championship Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC) have been rewarded for winning the male division of this year’s edition.

The Accra-based school earns, a lucrative cash prize and products from headline sponsor Sprite after beating Mfantsipim School 25-22 in the final game to clinch its first title at Ghana’s most prestigious high school basketball competition.

This is reward for the school’s outstanding display in the renowned tournament which had the side beat record winners Mfantsipim twice including a 45-14 win in the opening game.

Osu-PRESEC won all six games played in the competition and became the first school from the Greater Accra Region to win the division since 2009.

Mfantsipim placed second in the tournament and earned cash prize and medals; the team missed out on winning the Championship for the fifth time.

Falling to Osu-PRESEC in this year’s final marks the four time winners third straight loss in the finals after losing to St. Augustine’s College and Opku Ware School.

Bronze medalist Pope John Senior High School and fourth placed side Sacred Heart Technical Institute received cash prizes and medals respectively.
