Kumasi (green) recovered from a1-8 deficit to clinch the title

Reigning Champions of the Sprite Ball Championship Female Division Kumasi Girls High School will received the top cash prize, products from headline sponsor Sprite and gold medals for the historic feat.

The team won the competition after beating Accra Wesley Girls High School 30-29 in overtime in the final game of this year’s competition.

Kumasi Girls win the competition for the first time in its third appearance; the team bounced back from a loss to Wesley Girls High School in the December 2016 edition.

The Ashanti Region based side receives the lucrative prize following an unbeaten run in the tournament capped off with a fine display in the final game.

Kumasi Girls also dominated the individual categories as Coach Zibo Brown and Point Guard Rose Yeboah were named Most Valuable Coach and Player of the Tournament respectively.

Accra Wesley Girls High School receives cash prize and medals for placing second in the tournament; it is the school’s second silver medal win.

Ahantaman Girls Senior High School placed third after impressing in the competition and fourth placed side Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School received cash, products from Sprite and medals.
