Kumasi Girls High School placed second at the last Sprite Ball Championship Female Division after falling to Wesley Girls High School but have atoned for the miss by winning this year’s championship.

The Ashanti Regional Champions confirmed its superiority in the competition by winning all games and capping it off with a 30-29 win over Accra Wesley Girls High School in the final.

Kumasi played far below par in the December 2016 final but a huge representation from that team making a return to the program, the team saw out the game in after regulation in a composed way.

Most Valuable Player of the Tournament Rose Yeboah had the chance to clinch the title for her side with the game over but missed her final free throw to send the game to overtime.

Abigail Gyamfi scored the go to basket for Kumasi Girls also from the ree throw line to send team members into hysteria.

Winning the Championship validated Coach Zibo Brown’s prediction ahead of the tournament..
