Eric Ankamah and Zibo Brown have been named the best Coaches in the Male and Female Divisions respectively at the recently ended Sprite Ball Championship.

Both men were at helm of winning sides in the competition as Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC) and Kumasi Girls High School topped the respective divisions.

Ankamah led PRESEC to record a 25-22 win over Mfantsipim School in the final game to lift the trophy. Ironically, the teams faced off in the opening game of the tournament which had PRESEC dish out a 45-14 win over the same side.

PRESEC proceeded to beat the likes of St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School and Pope John Senior High and Junior Seminary in the knockout stage.

The team’s win ends Greater Accra Region’s long wait for a title in the male division since the last team from the region, Armed Forces Senior High, achieved the feat in 2009.

In the female division, Kumasi Girls dominant run was capped off with a thrilling 3-29 overtime win over Accra Wesley Girls High School.

Brown’s charges bounced back from a heartbreaking loss in the final game at the last edition’s to Wesley Girls High School.
