2015 African Champions Nigeria will compete at the 21st edition of the Commonwealth Games which takes place in Australia from April 4-15 this year.
The Western African powerhouse’s Male side has started preparing for the competition by inviting 20 players to camp with the roster expected to be cut down.
The call up is the first phase of preparation with the next stage set to include friendly games against ahead of the competition.
Players from league giant Kano Pillars dominate the list with seven called up from the reigning league champions and 2017 Africa Champions Cup fourth placed side.
Veteran Guard Abdul Yahaya and Dike Azouma headline Pillars call ups invited to the camp; Yahaya was named Most Valuable Player at the 2017 FIBA Africa Zone 3 tournament.
Next is Gombe Bulls who have four players in the team including the likes of Usman Abubakar who starred in the team’s continental adventure in December last year.
Players from Rivers Hoopers, Mark Mentors and Benin side ASPAC have made the list.
