Sacred Heart beat Augustine’s (white) in overtime.

Sacred Heart Technical Institute put up a brilliant performance in the just ended Sprite Ball Championship at the El Wak Stadium in Accra but ended the campaign in disappointment.

Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu-PRESEC) beat Mfantsipim School 25-22 to lift the trophy with Kumasi Girls High School winning the female division.

Sacred Heart placed fourth in the competition falling 12-21 to Pope John Senior High School after losing 20-26 to Mfantsipim School in the semifinals.

A bronze medal would been a consolation prize for the Greater Accra Region side who lit the competition up with its fundamental heavy basketball play.

The team contributed in knocking out then defending champions Opoku Ware School by beating the Kumasi side 38-27 in the opening game in Group D.

Sacred Heart beat Mawuli Senior High and Adisadel College to top the Group and make it to the quarterfinals where it faced former winners St. Augustine’s College.

Augustine’s lost 30-32 in overtime to Sacred Heart but the latter’s winning run ended in the semifinals.
