St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School has claimed a crucial win over Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) in this year’s Sprite Ball Championship.
Aquinas clinched a 30-19 win over KSTS in the crunch tie to seal qualification to the quarterfinals of the competition.
KSTS misses out on qualifying from Group B as Aquinas joins Prempeh College as qualified teams from the group. Prempeh plays its final game against St. John’s School.
Guard Atta Badu was instrumental in the win as he back to back three point shots broke KSTS’ comeback attempt.
In other games, St. Augustine’s College beat Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) 28-16 in both teams final games in Group A.
Augustine’s has all but sealed its place in the quarterfinals ahead of leaders Pope John Senior High’s game against T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School.
Sacred Heart Technical ended its run in Group A with a third win in three games to seal top spot in Group D. Sacred Heart piped Adisadel College 18-17 despite both making it to the quarters.
