Defending Sprite Ball Champions Wesley Girls High School has recorded a much needed 24-17 win over Nkawakaw Senior High School
The game was the team’s second in the ongoing championship at the El Wak Stadium in Accra following a 20-23 loss to Accra Wesley Girls High School.
The win gets Wesley Girls campaign back on track as two wins in the last pair of games in Group A of the female division all but clinches a semifinal berth.
The Cape-Coast based side sprinted to an early lead and maintained focus through the entiregame to see out the much deserved win.
In other games in the division, Kumasi Girls High School clinched a 26-15 win over St. Mary’s Senior High School and followed it up with a 25-15 win over Awudome Senior High School.
Ahantaman Girls Senior High School topped West Africa Senior High School 27-10 with the Western Region side clinching a big win over the Accra based side.
This year’s Sprite Ball Championship ends on Saturday January 6.
