Following a stunning loss to Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) in the opening game of the Sprite Ball Championship, Mfantsipim School recovered well to demolish Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI).
Mfantsipim won the contest 18-0 in its second appearance in this year’s competition; the Championship record winners fell 14-45 to PRESEC-Osu.
Western Region representative TTI contributed to the mauling as the side failed to finish drives and convert shots.
Team members on many occasions dribbled the ball a tad too long or picked an extra pass despite being wide open on some possessions.
In a must win game for Mfantsipim, the four time champions delivered in dominant fashion to clinch its maiden win of the competition.
This isn’t the first time Mfantsipim has recorded a big result; at the January 2016 edition, the team beat Accra Academy 32-4 in the preliminary stage before going on to lose in the finals to St. Augustine’s College.
The result is a disappointing one for TTI and the Western Region contingent as St. John’s School lost 16-25 to KSTS.
