This year’s Sprite Ball Championship is tantalizingly close to commencement as the clock ticks down to the start of the much anticipated competition.
Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition is scheduled to tip off on Thursday January 4 and end on Saturday January 6 at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The renowned competition has been the bedrock of talents in the West African nation since its inception in 2007 with a host of players graduating from the program.
The latest edition is set to have 26 schools in both male and female divisions compete over the next three days; 16 schools will compete in the male division and 10 will compete in the female division.
Teams are due to arrive at the University of Ghana Campus later today where they will lodge during the Championship.
Opoku Ware School and Wesley Girls High School head to the competition as defending champions in the male and female sects respectively.
Sprite Ball is organized by award winning firm Rite Sports Limited and headlined by Sprite.
