Ashaiman Lions have been consistently present in the final game of several competitions over the years following impressive exploits.

However, the team has failed in as many of such games including a pair of losses in the Tema Basketball League including this past season.

Lions lost in a three game series to Tema Community 4 in this year’s league campaign despite rolling to the final as overwhelming favorite to lift the trophy.

Later tonight, the team has a big chance to erase the painful experiences in previous finals when Lions play Francophone Stars.

The matchup is due for tip off at 16:00 GMT and is the first of two semifinal games to be played today; Tema Community 2 takes on Ghana Police in the second and final semifinal tie.

With the sting of another trophy miss still fresh, Lions have dispatched tough assignments in the preliminary stage successfully.

Ashaiman beat the likes of Tema Heat thanks to a 41-39 win to clinch one of two spots to qualify from Group B to the knockout phase.
