Schools representing the Ashanti Region at the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship are aware of the teams they will come up against in the preliminary stage following the draw.

The draw for next year’s Sprite Ball Championship was conducted successfully in a live broadcast on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports with Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong in attendance.

With reigning boys division champions Opoku Ware School leading the region’s contingent in the boys division; the girls division has a lot of talking points.

The region is represented by Kumasi Girls High School and T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School with the former winning silver at the last edition and the latter clinching the national trophy on two occasions.

T.I. Ahmadiyya is in Group A alongside reigning champions Wesley Girls High School, Accra Wesley Girls High School, Ahantaman Girls High School and West AfricaSenior High School.

Kumasi Girls is in Group B and will be in action at the group stage against Awudome, Nkawkaw, St, Mary’s and two time Champions Aggrey Mount Zion Senior High School respectively.

The next Sprite Ball Championship takes place from January 4-6, 2018 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
