Greater Accra Region representative St. Mary’s Senior High School has been placed in a tough group in the female division of next year’s Sprite Ball Championship.
St. Mary’s is in Group B alongside Kumasi Girls High School, Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School, Nkwakaw Senior High School and Awudome Senior High School.
The 2007 Sprite Ball winner qualified to the upcoming competition via a longer route after missing out on securing an automatic spot.
Mary’s missed out on the region’s qualification slots-West Africa Senior High and Accra Wesley Girls High Schools picked up the slots- but topped a special poll to clinch the final spot at the tournament.
Following the draw which took place live on Kwese Free Sports, Mary’s will have it tough in its attempt to clinch a second national title.
Two time winners Aggrey has been drawn in the group with an ever improving Kumasi Girls side featuring in there. Kumasi Girls have placed third and second at the past two competitions.
Next year’s Championship takes place from January 4-6, 2018 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
