A host of NBA players have used time in the Gatorade League to rehab from injury prior to returning to play for respective teams in the upper tier league.

The latest player set to feature in the league is Cleveland Cavaliers Guard Isaiah Thomas who has been assigned to Canton Charge.

Ghana’s Amida Brimah plays in the league with Austin Spurs which is affiliated to NBA outfit San Antonio Spurs; 6 foot 11 inch Brimah plays Center for Austin.

The diminutive playmaker has been dealing with a hip injury since last season’s playoffs and is yet to play a game for the Cavaliers after his trade from Boston Celtics.

Though Thomas has looked fluid in his movement, Cleveland is being cautious about his return to action and view time in the lower league as the best way to get him in the best shape.

Brimah featured for Spurs in the team’s 100-96 win over Canton when the announcement was made; Amida played 17 minutes registering two points and seven rebounds in a poor outing.
