2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Referee of the Year nominee Eric Ankamah will lead Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) to the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship.
The veteran referee who who doubles as head coach of the school’s male basketball team is preparing feverishly for the tournament which commences early next year.
The next Sprite Ball Championship takes place from January 4-6, 2018 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 16 schools and 10 schools slated to compete in the boys and girls division’s respectively.
Ankamah stated in an interview during the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour of Osu PRESEC about his team’s intentions to make a big impact at the games.
“This year we are coming in as full time great players, professional players, who have tested the game before and know how it feels like to win the championship” he said.
PRESEC-Osu shocked a lot by qualifying to represent the Greater Accra Region alongside Sacred Heart Senior High Technical School and St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High.
Osu-PRESEC will be making a second straight appearance at the competition.
