Africa’s Northern sector has flat out dominated this year’s FIBA Africa Champions Cup as the final four teams in the competition prove.
With the exception of Angola side Benfica Sportive Libolo, the remaining spots are taken up by teams from the region with two from host country Tunisia.
As Sale of Morocco, Union Sportive Monastir and home side Etoile Sportive Rades have led the sub region’s charge for continental glory.
Sale and Rades will battle for the gold medal in the final game today as Libolo takes on Monastir in the third place game for a spot on the podium.
Teams from other regions on the continent failed to shine at the competition with last year’s fourth placed side Kano Pillars falling to ninth this time around.
The Nigerian side clinched the low spot after recording an 82-81 win over Democratic Republic of Congo side Mazembe.
Pillars topped the West Africa Zone 3 qualifying alongside Gombe Bulls to the games ahead of Ghana’s Braves of Customs.
However, neither side made major progress as Gombe finished 11th in Tunisia.
