Akatsi Rifles have lost its maiden game in the Tema Basketball League preseason competition after falling to Ghana Navy.

Rifles lost 41-78 to Navy in the opening game on Day Two of the competition dubbed “Campaign Tournament” falling to two straight losses in the process.

The Akatsi side was scheduled to play on Day One against Francophone Stars but the tie did not take place as Rifles failed to show up for the game.

However, the team couldn’t make a winning return to action after ending the game against Navy on the losing side of the tie.

Akatsi Rifles was given a special award recognizing its commitment in the just ended Tema Basketball League where the team missed out securing a postseason berth.

Tema Rockets and Francophone Stars also lost on Day Two after falling 45-59 to Community 2 and 51-53 to Ghana Police.

Navy clinched the largest win of the round.
