Tema Basketball League organizers showed a lot of commitment to ensure games went on as planned in the Campaign Tournament despite poor weather conditions which threatened to force another postponement.
The preseason competition was due for another postponement following rainfall in Ghana’s capital Accra which left pools of water on the court making it dangerous to play on.
However, chief organizer of the competition Fred Yeboah with the help of a few individuals ensured the court was ready to host games this past weekend.
The committed group swept water off the Tema Community 4 Court and used crude means to dry the surface making it safe to play on in the process.
This is isn’t the first time a similar situation has happened as the act had to be repeated on a couple of occasions during the league campaign.
Akatsi Rifles lost 41-78 to Ghana Navy in the opening game with Tema Community 2 beat Tema Rockets 59-45 in the second game.
The final game had Ghana Police pip Francophone Stars 53-51 to clinch the win.
