Point Guard Derrick White has been assigned to the Austin Spurs after a brief stint with San Antonio Spurs this season.
Austin Spurs employ Ghana Center Amida Brimah who had a brief stint with San Antonio in pre season before signing for the Gatorade League side Austin.
The 29th pick in this year’s NBA Draft has been in and out of Austin’s roster splitting time with the NBA outfit in San Antonio.
He featured behind Patty Mills and Dejounte Murray as starting Point Guard Tony Parker recovered from a lengthy quad injury sustained last season.
However, with Parker’s return and Kawhi Leonard’s similar recovery, playing time is likely to be difficult to come by for the first year player.
In six games with San Antonio, White averaged 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.8 minutes in six games in his time stint with the five time NBA Champions.
He played in Austin’s winning effort against Santa Cruz Warriors and is line to face Rio Grande Viper tonight alongside Brimah who has been in the starting unit for the past three games.
