Nigerian side Gombe Bulls stunned Angolan side Benfica Libolo in a FIBA Africa Champions Cup game played earlier today.
The competition which is taking place in Tunisia saw the Bulls beat Libolo 75-67 in blistering fashion and record its maiden win in the competition.
Gombe was led by Yakubu Sylvanus who scored 19 points and added three rebounds and three assists in the contest his side needed to win.
Libolo was paced by Olimpio Cipriano who scored 13 points and added four rebounds and three steals in a game the Angolan side was tipped to win.
Heading to the contest, Bulls had lost three straight games in the tournament-which runs till December 20- in previous outings.
Libolo had recorded two wins in three games before falling to the Zone 3 runner up today; the result moves the side into third place with Gombe in fifth place.
Democratic Republic of Congo ASB Mazembe ranks bottom of Group B with four points; Mazembe lost 92-101 to GS Petroliers of Algeria.
Fellow Nigerian side Kano Pillars recorded its first win on Wednesday.
