Desert Rabbits has inked its maiden win of the 2017-2018 Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League thanks to a big win over the weekend.
The team blew Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG Saints) away with a 45-15 win at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani in Week 3 games.
The tie featured two sides yet to win a game this season as neither Rabbits nor Saints had registered a win in two previous games.
However, easily the most popular team in the league, Desert Rabbits got off to a good start and jettisoned far from its opponent by way of clinching a 12-0 third quarter lead.
The team won all four quarters in the tie but almost missed out on the fourth quarter lead as Rabbits won 9-8 but winning 11-5 and 13-2 in the preceding quarters ensured Rabbits earned a big win.
Sunyani Technical University lost 30-50 to Suncity Braves, LIR beat Barracks Scorpions 75-22 and defending champions University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) beat West Siders 44-26 in the remaining games.
