Mfantsipim School Basketball Coach Isaac Mensah has indicated his team needs work before the Sprite Ball Championship stating team is operating at 60%.
He made the statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com following the conclusion of Central Region Qualifiers for the main championship.
Mfantsipim won the contest courtesy a 20-18 result to lift the regional title and secure a spot at the national games alongside beaten finalist St. Augustine’s College.
Despite clinching the title for the umpteenth time, Mfantsipim long tenured trainer was not too impressed with his charges display citing the need to work more.
“We’ve not trained much because of some work in the school and region too so am now going to sit down with them go through before we get to Accra. Its (the team) is 60% complete so we will work on the 40%” he said before stating his belief in winning another trophy.
Mfantsipim have won Ghana’s National High School title for times but a fifth crown has eluded the school at the past editions where they featured in the final game.
The next edition of Sprite Ball takes place at the El Wak Stadium in Accra from January 4-6, 2018.
