Wesley Girls High School head into next year’s Sprite Ball Championship not only as defending National Champions but also as the 2017 Central Region female Champions.
This follows the team’s 12-11 win over fierce rivals Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion High School in the female division final game.
Gey Hey beat Aggrey to win the regional title prior to winning the December 2016 title and have repeated the dose against the same opponent.
Aggrey will feel aggrieved after letting go a 9-6 first half win to lose by a point sparking a few verbal exchanges between Aggrey’s technical team and game officials.
By making the finals, both teams guaranteed themselves a place at the next edition of the Sprite Ball Championship due to take place from January4-6, 2018 in Accra.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after winning the qualifiers, Wesley Girls Point Guard Eno Ampong stated her team is ready to win its second straight championship.
Swedru Business School trounced surprise package Adankwaman Senior High School 27-3 to clinch third place and round up a very impressive outing.
