Record winners of Ghana’s National High School Basketball Championship Mfantsipim School have won its opening game at this year’s qualifiers in emphatic mode.
The team trounced Adankwaman Senior High School 42-18 in its opening game of this year’s Central Regional Qualifiers.
The games are taking place at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast and has a slew of top tier side including defending national female champions Wesley Girls High School competing.
Mfantsipim had little trouble dealing with Adankwaman who have surprised many by making it this far in the qualifying process.
However, the team’s naiveties were exposed early on in the game and couldn’t fight back as the experienced group run out with a comfortable win.
Mfantsipim plays Adisadel College in its final game in Group B knowing a win takes them through to the semifinals where another win clinches a spot at the national competition.
Adankwaman suffered a similar loss in the female division as the school lost 0-26 to Wesley Girls. The next edition of Sprite Ball will be played from January 4-6, 2018 in Accra
