The Tema Basketball League Campaign Tournament will not feature one of the headlining acts Nungua Coldstore in the eight team competition.

This is due to Coldstore’s decision to withdraw from the preseason tournament slated to take place from December 9-24 at Tema’s Community 4 Court.

Coldstore made the announcement with little over a week to the opening game between reigning Tema League Champions Community 4 and Ghana Police.

Contacted by Basketballghana.com, Coldstore Coach Ken Caesar stated the decision to pull out of the tournament was down to settling team issues.

“Coldstore is withdrawing from the December tournament to enable us do some house cleaning and prepare adequately for the 2018 league. We would like to apologize to all for this sudden decision and any inconvenience this has caused” he said.

Nungua is withdrawing from the competition it won after winning the 2016 Tema League; the team beat Tudu Magic in the preseason final game with Ghana Navy placing third.

Coldstore has been replaced by Akatsi Rifles who take on Ashaiman Lions, Tema Heat and Tema Community 2 in Group B.
