Aggrey Memorial won the 2016 Sprite Ball January edition.
Reigning national high school basketball champions Wesley Girls High School has been housed in Group A ahead of the Central Region qualifiers.

The qualifiers in the most successful region of the Sprite Ball Championship will be played at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast on Tuesday December 5.

Wesley Girls won the December 2016 edition over Kumasi Girls High School and the first stage towards defending its title take place next week.

The team is in Group A with surprise package Adankwaman Senior High School and Winneba Senior High School.

Two time winners Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School is Group B with Holy Child School and Swedru Business School.

Games will be played simultaneously with those in the male division at the Stadium with fellow big names like St. Augustine’s College competing.

With little surprises recorded thus far in qualifiers across three regions thus far, Wesley Girls and Aggrey are heavily tipped to progress to the national competition where games are set to take place at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
