Groups in the male division of the Central Region Qualifiers have been released ahead with former winners Mfantsipim School and St. Augustine’s College as the headlining acts.

The qualifiers will determine which teams qualify to represent the region at the Sprite Ball Championship in Ghana’s capital, Accra in January 2018.

Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest high school basketball competition and Central Region qualifying games will be played on Tuesday December 7 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast.

Record winners of the competition Mfantsipim School, leads Group B which has new boys Adankwaman Senior High School and Adisadel College.

In Group A, winners of the January 2016 edition St. Augustine’s College has been paired with Winneba Senior High School and Insaniyya Senior High School.

Insaniyya’s male side has missed out on representing the region and should relish the chance to emulate its female side’s bronze medal in 2009.

Adankwaman’s presence in the male and female divisions of the last round of qualifiers has been a highlight in this year’s qualifiers.
