Little known Adankwaman Senior High School will be in the wars when qualifiers to the Sprite Ball Championship take place in Ghana’s Central Region.
The qualifiers will be played on Tuesday December 5 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast with spots in Ghana’s biggest high basketball competition up for grabs.
The Central Region is the most successful in the celebrated competition boasting 11 titles in the male and female divisions respectively.
With former winners including Mfantsipim School, St. Augustine’s College and Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion competing in the division, it is perhaps the most competitive sect to thrive particularly for relative novice Adankwaman.
The school is up against experienced sides in both divisions in the qualifiers slated for next week; its male side faces Mfantsipim, Augustine’s, Adisadel College, Winneba and Insaaniya Senior High Schools respectively.
The female side takes on Aggrey, reigning champions Wesley Girls High School, Swedru School of Business, Winneba Senior High School and Holy Child School for a spot at the national games.
Sprite Ball’s next edition tips off in January 2018.
